Is the Kodak Charmera worth it? If you want a tiny camera on your keys that makes people ask, "wait, that takes pictures?", yes. If you want great photos, no. This take is based on the specs and on reviews from Tom's Guide and The Verge.
The Charmera is a real digital camera the size of a lip balm, on a keyring, and it shoots both photos and video. The fun part is that it's a blind box: there are six designs plus a rare see-through secret edition, and you don't know which one you have until you open it. Photos are lo-fi on purpose, like an early-2000s phone camera, with built-in filters and frames.
The honest catch: photos are soft and noisy, dim light is rough, and the filters are photo-only. There's no memory card in the box, so plan on adding a microSD card.
It's a great stocking stuffer for teens and for anyone who misses their first phone camera. Want sharp photos? Use your phone.
Our verdict: buy it for the fun, not the photos.
